First DSLR for me and it is nice. The picture quality is amazingly better than the point and shoot cameras. My wife got it for me. Haha. Still super noob at photography but hope to take some higher quality pics of landscape, people, and toys.
Found a super cheap tripod from Target and realized you get what you pay for. It will do the job, but it is kinda flimsy and wobbly. Defeats the purpose.
The stock lens that is included works just fine for me. Maybe one day I'll be adventurous and get a better zoom lens.
Update 11/27/09:
Ended up returning the combo to Costco and getting the larger combo kit for 50 dollars more. The new combo came with an additional zoom lens, a 4gb memory card, and a nice camera carrying case. Unfortunately, haven't had much of a chance to play around with the camera. Soon though.
